This movie is so far off on the horizon that any and all rumors need to be taken with a grain of salt, but, that said, how great would it be if Spider-Man showed up in the third Avengers movie?

Latino Review, a site that — though not always right — has an impressive track record of breaking leaked superhero news first, reported today the unconfirmed rumor that when it comes to Marvel's Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1, "Spider-Man IS in this movie, the Sony deal went through."

The "deal" the writer mentions would be one between Sony Pictures, which owns the film rights to the Spider-Man franchise, currently rolling along with Andrew Garfield, and Marvel Studios, which is set to release that third Avengers film on May 4, 2018. Leaked emails revealed back in December that Marvel and Sony had discussed a deal, and that Marvel wanted Spidey to appear in Captain America: Civil War

CBR was able to contact a Sony rep after Latino Review's story was posted and Sony denied the whole thing as an "old rumor" with "no validity whatsoever." So, who knows? For now we can only hope.
