Columbus Short gets thrown into a world of hurt in "The Girl Is in Trouble."

When a random girl calls at 2:30 in the morning, don't answer. Columbus Short's character, a struggling Lower East Side DJ, learns that the hard way in The Girl Is in Trouble, a movie that showcases the dark underbelly of New York City.

Executive produced by acclaimed director and Complex partner Spike Lee, the movie gets on a treacherous roll when a desperate girl (Alicja Bachleda) rings up Short's DJ and leans on him for help. You see, she's in the middle of a mystery involving a missing drug dealer and the scion of New York's most powerful stockbroker. And just by answering that late-night phone call, Short's character finds himself thrust into a world of violence (perpetrated mostly by a tatted-up Wilmer Valderrama) and crime. 

Directed by Julius OnahThe Girl Is in Trouble fuses modern sensibility with French New Wave film to make a movie that feels truly "New York." Just as Spike Lee likes it.
