Social media kills relationships. No, it literally kills them. In a benchmark ruling, a New York City judge granted permission for a woman to serve her husband papers for a divorce.... on Facebook.

Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Matthew Cooper is allowing a Brooklyn woman to serve her fleeting husband divorce papers through a Facebook message because he ran away years ago and reportedly communicates with her only by phone and Facebook. This is a last ditch effort after her husband has refused to make himself available to be served with divorce papers.

“We tried everything, including hiring a private detective — and nothing,” the woman's lawyer said.

The first Facebook message serving the papers was sent to the husband last week, but “so far, he hasn’t responded.”
