After being named the Sexiest Man Alive, it seems like things could hardly get better for Idris Elba, right? Wrong.

The actor is now combining his favorite hobby with his full-time gig for his new Netflix comedy series Turn Up Charlie. After years of playing dark detectives and other dramatic roles, the comedy sees Elba transform into an unlucky DJ babysitting for his friend.

According to IndieWire, the eight-part comedy is being directed by Tristram Shapeero, who helmed classics like Community and Parks and Recreation, and Matt Lipsey. The show also stars Frankie Hervey, JJ Feild, Angela Griffin, Guz Khan, Jocelyn Jee Esein, Jade Anouka, Cameron King, and Dustin Demri-Burns.

Turn Up Charlie is hardly the last we'll see of DJ Idris Elba in 2019. Fans were shocked on Wednesday to find his name on the 2019 Coachella lineup.

Are we just going to ignore the fact that Idris Elba is a dj in his spare time and is on the coachella line up??

Meanwhile, many of us have known Elba is a DJ, because he is ALWAYS posting about his side gig.

I guess all of the people freaking out about Idris Elba Being on the Coachella list don’t follow him on social media...where ALL HE TWEETS ABOUT IS BEING A DJ.
