Justin Bieber Still Wants an Octagon Throwdown With Tom Cruise, According to TMZ

If they want true brand synergy, they'll do back-to-back fights at Hillsong L.A. and the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre. Prayers up.

Justin Bieber already alerted the planet that his UFC Octagon challenge earlier this month to Tom Cruise was an example of him "just playing." A very TMZ-y report from TMZ published Thursday, however, alleges that actual talks about such an event have continued as recently as last Friday.

I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite ?

The report claims Ari Emanuel (co-boss of the UFC-owning William Morris Endeavor agency) gave Bieber's manager Scooter Braun a call last Friday, conferenced in Dana White, and made the case for why such a fight needed to become reality. Braun, at least according to TMZ, said during the call that Bieber was totally down if Cruise felt the same. Emanuel, meanwhile, is said to have theorized that Cruise would have no issue coming to an agreement on the spectacle.

Bieber and Cruise, of course, have no known issues with each other and such an event would exist purely in the name of entertainment.

On Wednesday, TMZ published a brief conversation with Dana White where he said he “got a phone call from a couple of real guys who said that they really do want to do this fight, and they believe that Tom Cruise would do the fight. … If that’s true, and everybody involved in this thing really wants to do it, we can talk." He added, "That would be the easiest fight to ever promote in the history of my career."

No word yet on whether such a move is supported by the Hillsong or Scientology churches.

At any rate, Bieber is said to be readying new music for his first new album since 2015's Purpose. Cruise, meanwhile, has a Top Gun revival on the docket for 2020 and several more Mission: Impossible entries in the pipeline.
