The trailer for the upcoming Shaft reboot has dropped.

The movie, which is a sequel to the 2000 film Shaft, will see Samuel L. Jackson reprise his role as the titular character John Shaft. Regina Hall, Avan Jogia, Alexandra Shipp, Titus Welliver, Matt Lauria, and Method Man are also starring in the movie. Jessie T. Usher will play the role of  Shaft's son, JJ or John Shaft Jr. Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and Alex Barnow penned the script. Richard Roundtree, the actor in the original 1971 film that was directed by Gordon Parks, is also set to appear. The film will be released this summer.

Until then, you can watch the trailer for the movie up top.

"JJ, aka John Shaft Jr. (Usher), may be a cyber security expert with a degree from MIT, but to uncover the truth behind his best friend’s untimely death, he needs an education only his dad can provide," the description for the movie reads. "Absent throughout JJ’s youth, the legendary locked-and-loaded John Shaft (Jackson) agrees to help his progeny navigate Harlem’s heroin-infested underbelly. And while JJ’s own FBI analyst’s badge may clash with his dad’s trademark leather duster, there’s no denying family. Besides, Shaft’s got an agenda of his own, and a score to settle that’s professional and personal."

Shaft, which will be directed by Tim Story, will arrive in theaters on June 14, 2019.
