People Aren't Buying Trump's Claim That Spike Lee's Oscar Comments Were Racist

There's nothing more important for the president to be doing, it seems.

Because all he knows how to do is react erratically to things on television, President Donald Trump decided to tweet about Spike Lee's Oscar win at 3 a.m.

The lauded director won his first ever Oscar for BlacKkKlansman and used the opportunity to talk about America's history of racism and believing in love over hate. Trump decided it was time to do what hit dogs do, holler that Lee was a racist on Twitter.

Be nice if Spike Lee could read his notes, or better yet not have to use notes at all, when doing his racist hit on your President, who has done more for African Americans (Criminal Justice Reform, Lowest Unemployment numbers in History, Tax Cuts, etc.) than almost any other Pres!

"Be nice if Spike Lee could read his notes, or better yet not have to use notes at all, when doing his racist hit on your President, who has done more for African Americans (Criminal Justice Reform, Lowest Unemployment numbers in History, Tax Cuts, etc.) than almost any other Pres!" he wrote, making only the most clueless among us wonder who that "your" was for.

Trump's favorite platform has never been on board with the oddly capitalized rants that he sends from the Lincoln Bathroom, but they really weren't down with Trump tearing into Lee after his historic win.

This tweet is quite telling. Not only was the speech NOT racist, it also NEVER mentioned him. https://t.co/S07jiugNKH

All Spike said was to tell people to "mobilize" and "make the moral choice between love versus hate." So it's funny that @realDonaldTrump would associate making a choice between love versus hate as an attack against him. 😂😂🤣 https://t.co/g2iyxPM5ZD

This coming from the man who can't read a teleprompter, much less an intelligence report, and who's trade chief had to dumb down the language because he didn't understand the terminology. #FakeNews https://t.co/J2pHYA0DSE
