On Nov. 15, 2018 Kim Porter was found dead in her Los Angeles-area home at age 47. The actress and model dated Diddy on and off for over a decade and was the mother of three of his children. TMZ reports that her cause of death is lobar pneumonia, according to the L.A. County Coroner's office.
Shortly before her death, sources close to Porter said that she was suffering from a particularly nasty flu. The night before she was discovered dead in her home after going into cardiac arrest, she told those close to her that she wasn't feeling well.
Diddy was heartbroken following her death. He delivered an emotional eulogy at her funeral, explaining how she helped him cope with depression at the top of the year. "I was really depressed, and I don't know why," he explained. "I just went through a dark dark time. She would come over [...] Even though we wasn't together like that, she was that type of person. It's hard to love someone when you ain't with them."
Diddy paid tribute to her on what would have been her 48th birthday. "We love you and we miss you," he wrote. Those close to her offered their condolences as news of her death spread.
