An age old mystery has finally been revealed. Fans of the animated television show Hey Arnold!, which debuted on Nickelodeon on October 7, 1996, have long pondered where the football shaped head character's parents where at.

We now know what has happened to Arnold's folks thanks to the newly released movie Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie. If you have yet to watch it and want to do so, head over to Nick's website to see the two hour long special.

Be warned that there will be spoilers the further you scroll down.

The new film Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie follows Arnold and gang as they head on a class field trip of sorts to the fictional San Lorenzo, which is the last known whereabouts of his explorer parents.

As they embark on their perilous adventure through the jungles of San Lorenzo, they find that Arnold's parents have succumbed to a type of sickness that has made them, and all the adults, fall into a deep slumber. The crew luckily finds the cure and Arnold gets to go back home with his mom and dad. Yay.

Speaking to AV Club, Hey Arnold! creator Craig Bartlett expressed his hope of creating another season of the show. "I’ve been saying this all along: The movie’s been made to act perfectly as closure so that everybody feels satisfied that all of the storylines got wrapped up. And also, at the end of the movie, they’re starting sixth grade, so season six is also my hope."

All signs are pointing to some more Hey Arnold! coming your way.
