With additional ridiculousness in the form of shark-infused tornadic events set to return to TV via Sharknado 4 in July, Syfy has finally started unveiling the film's predictably top-shelf cast. Most notably, Variety confirms that esteemed Piranha 3DD star Gary Busey has been enlisted to join the inane action as Wilford Wexler. Wexler, father to April (Tara Reid), is a so-called "lead scientist" for tornado-obsessed tech company Astro-X.

Busey will be joined by fellow newcomers Tommy Davidson (In Living Color), Imani Hakim (Everybody Hates Chris), Cody Linley (Hannah Montana), Masiela Lusha (George Lopez) and Cheryl Tiegs as Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering)'s mother. As the history of this critically revered franchise has shown us, there is no star too big (or too small!) to somehow find themselves interacting with improbable sharks for the sake of instant memeification.

David Hasselhoff, who previously appeared as Fin's Hasselhoff-esque dad, will also be returning for more magic. As previously reported, that makes two shark-sized casting announcements for the SpongeBob SquarePants scene-stealer in as many weeks. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, in a contagiously stoked Facebook video, recently confirmed Hasselhoff's participation in the currently-in-production Baywatch reboot co-starring retired DJ Zac Efron.

Sharknado 4, which promises to be just as scientifically grounded as its predecessors, will take place half a decade after the events of Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No, with Fin and the fam unknowingly in the final days of their extended period of sharklessness. Though additional plot details (and a glorious subtitle) haven't been revealed, Sharknado 4 will most definitely include the results of that ridiculous #AprilLives or #AprilDies hashtag campaign.

Start imagining how gratifying it will be to polish all those future Oscars, Syfy. You've earned it.
