New Zealand Police Pursuit Halted by Flock of Sheep

Can't make this stuff up.

A flock of sheep have proven an effective police tool, ending a car chase in regional New Zealand.

Four people were involved in a high-speed police chase between the towns of Alexandra and Arrowtown on New Zealand’s south island.

Senior Sergeant James Ure of nearby town Dunedin said the car was spotted at 8am, speeding and driving without plates. Police pursued, but despite a tyre being popped with a road spike, the offenders weren’t about to stop.

The pursuit lasted some time, until out of nowhere, an enormous flock of sheep took to the road. Unable to manoeuvre around the mammals, the offenders had no choice but to stop and allow police to arrest them.

Never change, New Zealand.
