According toTMZ, Jimmy Fallon is currently recovering in a New York City hospital following a surgery early Friday morning. Fallon reportedly injured his left hand early Friday in his apartment, with doctors recommending an immediate operation. As a result, Friday's taping of The Tonight Show has been canceled — with no word on his official return date.

Fallon was spotted Thursday night at Upper East Side restaurant Scalinatella, where he posed for pictures and enjoyed dinner. Fallon is expected to make a full recovery, with no further delays of future Tonight Show tapings currently expected.
