True Star Wars fans will notice that that Lando Calrissian won't be in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. But it's starting to look like there's still a future for Lando, who was played by Billy Dee Williams, in Disney's Star Wars. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Lawrence Kasdan, the screenwriter of The Force Awakens, suggests that fans should keep an eye out for Lando:

Right now, there’s no Lando Calrissian in this movie. But Lando I don’t think is finished in any way, shape, or form.

That's not totally reassuring, but then Williams himself hinted that he's coming back in this comment he made when asked about the new movies earlier this year:

Yeah, people were pretty upset about it. But I uh...I may very well...I have a feeling I’m going to show up," he said. "There’s nothing I can really discuss about it at this stage. [...] I can't imagine them not bringing Lando back. But we'll see, I don't know.

So maybe Lando won't be in the Force Awakens, but it looks like he will still be a part of the new Disney triology. Which makes sense, Lando has said that people consider him a part of the original cast, and we couldn't agree more.
