It appears that 13 episodes were all Fox needed to see of its new dramedy Red Band Society to determine that sick kids don’t sell. The network has decided to pull the plug on the “hospital show with heart,” ending its run after just one season.

The show will air its 10th episode in primetime next Wednesday as scheduled, then will vanish. The remaining three episodes will remain in Fox programming purgatory until the network decides to air them, which could happen basically at any time.

It’s another dud this season for Fox, which has already canceled the uber-expensive reality series Utopia and could drop the ax on comedy Mulaney at any time.
