Ever since Microsoft's reveal of the Xbox One earlier this year, they've been playing hard defense thanks to some of the consoles less popular features.

DRM, console locking, an emphasis on television, and the 'always on' fiasco were all met with near Internet-wide scorn and derision. Most of these features have been amended or modified, but that didn't stop the Internet at large from creating a nearly endless stream of jokes, memes, and pejoratives. Xbone being one of the most widely used.

Well, Microsoft has taken it upon themselves to purchase the Xbone.com domain all for themselves. Larry Hryb, Director of Programming for Xbox LIVE, took to NeoGAF to decry the unwanted nickname,

"It disrespects the teams that have put in thousands of hours (already) into the development of the product."

Microsoft can now count Xbone.com among their illustrious stable of holdings.
