Wine Experts Name D.C. Perfect City for Wine Drinkers

D.C. has BYOW places.

None

A wine advocacy group has blessed D.C. as a great place for wine drinkers. The American Wine Consumer Coalition released its report card this week grading every state and the District of Columbia on the access that wine drinkers have to wine. There were four deciding factors: restaurant wine, government control, blue laws and access to products. D.C. received an A+.

D.C. residents have easy access to wine, aren't bound by blue laws and, in some, cases can even bring their own wine to places that don't have corkage fees. Grades for the other two DMV components—Virginia and Maryland—were at opposite ends of the spectrum: Virginia also received an A+; Maryland received a D+. That plus sign is just rubbing sault in the wound.

D.C. residents should drink (wine) to this and prepare to celebrate D.C. Beer Week.
