The L train operates between 8th Avenue in Manhattan's Chelsea section and Rockaway Park in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn.Waiting for it can be a less than pleasant experience due to each platform's temperature—the're among the hottest in New York City. The L train, or Hell's Shuttle, is so hot because of heat being pushed out by the sidewalk and surrounding buildings.

L Degrees, created by Julian Cole and Kristin Henschel, estimates the temperature at each stop by considering the temperature and readings examining the difference between above ground and platform temperatures. Go here and find out how hot it is at your L train spot. Oh, and to all 14th Street commuters, we feel for you.
