Twitter Finally Releases Vine for Android Smartphones

About time!

None

Twitter announced today that Vine—the easy to use social video app—is now available for Android smartphones that currently run Android 4.0 or higher. If you've tried out Vine on a friend's iPhone, and notice a few differences from that to the new app on your Android phone—don't panic. Twitter will be releasing all of the features from the iOS version that are currently missing from the Android app in the near future, like hashtags, search, mentions and front-facing camera support. But, guess what? Android users get something iOS users don't get: a zoom feature; and there's more to come.

Vine currently has about 13 million active users since launching in January, and we expect they'll be getting millions more with this release.
