According to the NYPD, a woman was almost robbed by two pint-sized suspects in Central Park earlier this week. The 38-year-old was walking through the park when a girl who might've just entered her teens ran up on her and demanded her cell phone. A second attacker—a boy no older than 11—then approached and attempted to grab her purse. The woman managed to fight the kids off, and they eventually fled.

Berle Easton, who lives near the park, was shocked and appalled. "People robbing people, at 10 years old? That's crazy," she told NBC New York. Stick-up kids are not a new phenomenon by any means, but that doesn't make the situation any easier to digest.
