Tragedy struck the small town of Lebanon, TN over the weekend when a deputy's wife was shot and killed at a barbecue—by a 4-year-old. According to authorities, Wilson County Deputy Daniel Fanning was showing off his arsenal of weapons to a relative on Saturday. His wife, 48-year-old Josephine, walked into a bedroom with a 4-year-old where the child noticed a gun. Mistaking the loaded weapon for a toy, the child fired once at the woman, killing her.
The woman was already dead by the time authorities arrived. According to WTSP, the Fanning's just wed last year.
