With the threat of a national chicken wing shortage looming during Super Bowl week, two Georgia men decided to take matters into their own hands. Unfortunately, their actions got them arrested—and fired. Dewayne Carl Patterson and Renaldo Cortez Jackson were arrested last Wednesday by Gwinnett County police for stealing $65,000 worth of chicken wings.

Both Patterson and Jackson worked for Nordic Cold Storage. On Jan. 12, they reportedly backed an Enterprise rental truck into the loading dock and placed 10 pallets of frozen Tyson chicken wings inside. Jackson loaded the wings into the truck using a forklift while Patterson played lookout.

They were charged with felony theft by taking and were released on $2,950 bond. While chicken wings might be the key to Super Bowl parties (along with alcohol), they definitely aren't worth going to jail over.
