24-year-old Iowa teacher Ashley Anderson has turned herself in after texting nude photos and engaging in sex acts with at least four male students. Anderson has taught at Aplington-Parkersburg High School since 2010, and owned up to oral sex with two students and intercourse with another. She also confessed to sending nude photos to another student, as well as kissing him.
Anderson resigned from her job, and was charged with four counts of exploitation by a school employee. She could face up to five years in prison for each count. The students ranged in age from 16 to 18 during the time of the misconduct, but sex between teachers and students is illegal in Iowa regardless of age. Police were tipped off to the relations between Anderson and a students in her math class back on September 20, prompting an investigation.
In addition to teaching math, Anderson was the faculty advisor for Students Against Drunk Driving and the prom committee, as well as assist coach for the girls' track team.
