Nobody should ever die over a Mother’s Day gift, but 20-year-old Paige Parkerson has been charged with first degree murder after allegedly stabbing 22-year-old Clifton “JR” Barkin—her fiancé and the father of her two children—because she only got a card and flowers from Wal-Mart for Mother’s Day. What happened to "it's the thought that counts"?

Police responded to a call from Wright’s mother, Evetta, after she received a confession via phone call from Parkerson early Monday morning. The last time Wright saw her son was 11:30 p.m. the previous night, when she dropped him off after taking him to Wal-Mart to buy the gifts for Parkerson. She believes Parkerson attacked her son because she was expecting something more expensive.

According to The Huffington Post, Parkerson’s Facebook page lists her favorite quote as “If looks could kill I would be da murder of all my haters.” If they can use lyrics against rappers in court, expect that to come up at some point. She’s currently being held on $75,000 bond.
