It’s been three years since our last trip to the sleepy, creepy hamlet of Silent Hill.

But at a recent event at their offices in Los Angeles, Konami showed off the latest version of Silent Hill: Downpour, one of three Hill games coming out early this year (the other two being Silent Hill: Book of Memories, an action game slated for the February launch of PlayStation’s Vita, and Silent Hill HD Collection, which brings Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 to the PS3 and 360 this March).

Set to be released March 27, 2012 on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Silent Hill: Downpour — the eighth in this survival horror series — is being assembled by Vatra Games, the Czech Republic studio that did the Rush’n Attack sequel Rush’n Attack: Ex-Patriot last year. Though with the event including hands-on time with the game, we now know a bit more about the game than “it’ll be scary.”
