The iPad 3 in Two Sizes
“Seven-inch tablets are tweeners: too big to compete with a smartphone and too small to compete with the iPad...These are among the reasons that the current crop of 7-inch tablets are going to be DOA—dead on arrival.” Apple’s lived by Jobs's proclamation for the past two years and have witnessed every Android manufacturer fail with their smaller offerings. However, Digitimes speculates Apple will release two iPad 3 versions, one measured at 9.7-inches and the other 7-inches—with the latter priced around $300. The consumer market would instantly jump on a smaller and less-expensive iPad, but the idea of Apple producing two different tablet sizes seems unrealistic. Take heed to Jobs words.
