A trio of driven Minecrafters have recreated the first level of Super Mario Land using nothing but 18 million virtual blocks. On top of that, James Wright, Joe Ciappa and Tempusmori framed the level in a giant virtual Game Boy. It's very meta.

In addition to the video itself, the group also made a short making-of video. It took the creators four weeks of full-time work to finish this thing, so the journey is might be even more amazing than the video itself.
