Inspired By: King Kong [Movie] (2005)
With a name longer than the average player's patience for the game, King Kong: the Official Game of the Movie sets itself up to be the authorial debut of Peter Jackson in the world of video games. His artistic sensibilities didn't bring the action or intrigue the film was supposed to deliver, instead it brought about insane design choices like removing the player's HUD so they have no idea how much health or ammunition they have.
This sort of self-aggrandizing design would be fine if Peter Jackson knew anything about games, but instead we were left with a confusing mess. To make matters worse Ubisoft stopped everything to put the talented Michel Ancel on the project, extending the wait for Beyond Good & Evil 2.
