2. Groups Can Audition Too

What really sets The X-Factor apart from Idol is the fact that you can audition as a solo artist or a group. Though this may not seem like much, it opens up a whole new world of possibilities for reality TV gold. Rifts between group members, mismanagement when it comes to nailing routines, one person screwing up in the middle of a performance and ruining it for everyone else, whatever—we can already foresee the inevitable screams and tears from those involved in groups.

On Idol, when they put the finalists into groups to perform together, basically exactly that happens, but it's only for one episode. This is for multiple. Come on, no one likes peace and harmony and all that shit on their reality television!
