Although there have been rumors pinning Guy Ritchie's name to the project, The Hollywood Reporter has dropped word that Warner Bros. has selected Smart People director Noam Murro to tell the tale of these fearless Persians in the upcoming spin-off of Zack Snyder's box office hit 300, titled 300: Battle Of Artemisia.

The film, to be based on Frank Miller's forthcoming graphic novel of the same title, will focus on the Battle of Artemisium, during which Persian leader Xerxes fought the warlord Themistocles. The strategy is to shoot 300: Battle Of Artemisia in the same visual style as Snyder's flick.

In addition to 300: Battle Of Artemisia, Murro is attached to direct Die Hard 5, when/if that ever happens.
