Impulse Technology is at odds with Microsoft over the origin of the wildly popular Kinect. The Ohio-based firm claims that Bill Gate's video gaming company violates seven of the company's motion tracking sensor patents. Other publishers like EA, Konami, and Sega are also named in the suit for making games for the Kinect that also violate the patents.
If this case goes into court and succeeds, it could affect any number of issues surrounding Microsoft and its ability to sell their games. Is this enough to topple the software giant? Possibly so. But for now, it's likely to be awhile until any final say is released about this matter, until then we'll keep you posted on the progress.
