Trailer Park: "Circumstance" (Directed by Maryam Keshavarz)

Two young Iranian lesbians are put through the emotional ringer.

It's refreshing to see something about Iranian youths that doesn't revolve around violence or any other atrocities commonly reported by CNN. As evidenced in this trailer for the critically adored drama Circumstance, the country's teens aren't all that different from kids here in the states.

Written and directed by Iranian-American filmmaker Maryam Keshavarz, Circumstance is the story of two young Iranian cuties who share a more-than-friendly attraction, which isn't embraced with much positivity in their devout homeland.

Keshavarz’s debut feature won the Narrative Audience Award at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. As a result, it’s getting a limited release on August 29. We'll see who, like us, will be willing to squeeze a viewing in amidst this summer's various superhero flicks.
