"A walk in the park..." It's a cheap date classic: romantic and healthy, and the only time buying your chick a hot dog and a Sunkist is more charming than insulting. Which is why winter and its shitty snow and shitty below 20-degree weather hits penny-pinching dudes the worst. Well,
Nolita's Openhouse Gallery has thrown you cheapskates a bone with the nifty looking
Park Here: An Indoor Pop Up Park on Mulberrry St. that features ersatz versions of all your favorite park amenities: fake grass, fake rocks, fake trees, and even fake birds chirping. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., you and your girl can roam the three-room, 4,500 square ft. space, have a go on the seesaw, chill on the bench, or set up a picnic on the artificial grass, all in the comfort of a 73-degree climate-controlled environment. There are also yoga sessions and chocolate tasting classes, although these will cost you something. It's all good shit, though, and you can get some well-needed wintertime points from your girl. Just act on it quick, the park is only open until Jan. 30.
