With Starboy almost a month old, one of the most talked about tracks since it's release has been "Sidewalks," featuring Kendrick Lamar. During The Weeknd's performance at the Vevo Presents concert in LA last night, the Black Hippy member joined the singer to perform the fan favorite.

The Canadian superstar spoke about working with Kendrick during an interview with Zane Lowe, saying that, "He would just walk around. We had food. He’s writing his verse in his head. He would go into his phone, look at it a few and then put it back and start walking around. He then at one point he went into the studio booth and I closed the door and I could hear him yelling his verse in his head. He was really committed, you can tell he put his all into. It wasn’t just a random Kendrick Lamar verse, it was something special because again, I don’t like to say this all the time, but we’ve known each other for a while and it’s crazy how we started connecting on this record.”

Starboy debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with the third highest first-week sales of 2016, moving 348,000 album equivalent units in its opening week. It was also the second most streamed album of 2016, behind Drake's Views.
