2016 has been a good year for Young Thug and 6LACK, with the Atlanta natives both going from strength to strength. Thugger dropped two albums that landed in the top ten on Billboard this year, while 6LACK set himself up for a massive 2017 with the release of his impressive debut Free 6LACK, one of our favorite projects of the year.
Despite all the current success, their careers kicked off from humble beginnings. In the throwback video below, 6LACK can be seen rapping as a crew, including a younger Young Thug, watches on. It's no surprise they crossed paths at some point in their come-up, with both artists originating from Atlanta and being known locally for years before getting major attention worldwide.
6LACK posted the clip to Twitter in 2015 with the caption: "throwback to the battle dayz lol #barter6." We're looking forward to hearing more from both artists in 2017, with Young Thug's next project Hy!£UN35 due to drop at some point in the new year and 6LACK coming to NYC to perform at our No Ceilings show in January.
