I don’t usually post without offering MP3’s, because I know you guys are hounds for the quick fix, but it’s rare that I come across something like this, and it wouldn’t be fair not to let you know. The Nikki & Rich sound is a result of the collaboration between two personalities: Nikki Leonti, a pastor’s daughter who grew up honing her vocal skills in church, and Rich Velonskis, a hip-hop producer from Queens, NY. Rich was looking for a strong vocalist and lyricist to collaborate with and take his tracks to the next level, and he found that in Nikki. Thanks to her sassy, high-stepping vocal quality, their music captures all the fun and vitality of classic ’60s girl groups, but is made thoroughly modern by Rich’s hard-hitting, radio-ready beats and keyboard textures.
