Sublime With Rome - "Panic"

1.

Sublime without Bradley Nowell? Sounds kind of impossible, like eggs without hot sauce. But shit happens. Maybe you’re outside, having eggs on the balcony, and your bottle of hot sauce tips over, rolls off the edge of the table, and cracks open on the ground. What do you do? You probably wave your arms around and yell for a while, have a bite of eggs, realize how terrible they are without the hot sauce, and start looking for solutions. Boom, goat cheese.

When Bradley Nowell passed away, Eric and Bud from Sublime kept busy in the music industry, most notably with Long Beach Dub Allstars, but after marginal success, that fell apart in 2002. In 2009, Bud and Eric reunited and started performing under the name Sublime, this time with lead singer/guitarist Rome Ramirez. They encountered some legal issues and changed the name to Sublime With Rome, continuing to do live shows up until now, performing classic Sublime material.

Now comes the real test. Sublime With Rome is creating original material for a new album called Yours Truly, due in July. With “Panic” we get the first taste of brand new Sublime With Rome material. It is in the same vein as the West Coast reggae/ska/punk stylings of Sublime. Some Sublime fans are going to be disappointed no matter what, but check it out and see for yourself.
