I like Pomegranates, the band. I always have liked what I’ve heard from them. But I can’t get really into them, and it’s because of their name. I just feel like pomegranates, the fruit, are so overrated. Goofy ass fruit that looks like a bunch of fish eggs when you cut it open. Then a few years ago someone decided to turn those fruity little egg balls into expensive drinks for people who see words like “antioxidants” and get a boner. No, thanks. I’ll stick to my blood oranges, classic strawberries, and tropical fruit superstars like pineapple, mango, papaya, and guava. You can go drink your pomegranate martini. Hope you spill it on your face.
But my powerful contempt for a fruit should not be a factor in what music I listen to, and I am a rational person (obviously), so I’m working on getting over it. “Pouncer” is off of Pomegranate’s new album One Of Us. Check it out below.
