If you like the clean, downtempo pop of Broods or Made In Heights, you should definitely be up on London duo Oh Wonder (previously known as Wonder Wonder). Their release strategy is simple but effective—put out one song a month for a year, then drop an album. Of course, this wouldn’t work unless the music is good, but Oh Wonder has been extremely consistent, and as you can see from their Soundcloud, it’s paying off. With hundreds of thousands of plays (at least) on every one of their songs so far, they’re building strong momentum leading up to that album.
Their latest is called “Landslide,” and it’s an uplifting piece of pop with delicate harmonizing, a big-but-not-too-big chorus, and an uplifting message. The duo’s self-titled debut album comes out September 4, and you can pre-order it now.
