The rap world has seen groups like Odd Future and Death Grips push the limits of hip-hop into punk territory and bring a new set of aesthetics, and Ho99o9 succeeds in taking things one step further. It’s not even fair to label this Los Angeles-based duo as rap, and it will be interesting to see where they end up in the grand scheme of things. With the momentum they’re building now and a live show that looks insane, it’s a good bet that we’ll be seeing plenty more of them. Their Horrors of 1999 EP is coming June 9.
