Courtship Ritual is a Brooklyn-based duo made up of Monica Salazar and Jared Olmsted, and they’ve got an album called Pith on the way. The album is coming out on Godmode, an independent NYC label building its reputation off an eclectic roster. This is the label that brought us Shamir, and while Courtship Ritual is on a different wave, there’s something similarly fresh about their new single, “Kingdom of Beauty.” It’s like danceable pop through a stripped back, DIY, post-punk lens—seductive, but with a hint of mischief.
