1. Skin Town - "2Nite"
There seems to be a glut of moody, icy, modern R&B coming out of L.A. at the moment. Whether or not the darkness-tinged lyrics and chilly synths are a direct reaction to the warm weather and sunny days, the results are some really great music. "2Nite" digs in its claws from the eerie opening melodies and haunting vocals, and never lets go, with Grace Hall's vocals ably backed by Nick Turco's synth wizardry. Step aside, Mr. Tesfaye. - Constant Gardner
