2. Bricc Baby Shitro - "6 Drugs"
"I'm on six mofuckin' drugs at one fuckin' time," Shitro informs us at the start of "6 Drugs." He proceeds to list them off, and it's an impressive list. We can't endorse the practice in any good faith, nor can we confirm that Bricc Baby Shitro was actually on six different drugs while he recorded this song—could have been five, even four—but we do get one quotable-ass chorus. Sam Tiba provides production.

4. This slowed-down version of Waka Flocka Flame's "Hard in the Paint"
In an amazing disply of internet innovation, SoundCloud user Y//2//K uploaded "there are things you can't forget" to their account. It's so much more than a remix of Waka Flocka Flame's "Hard In The Paint" but you have to start there.
The song is slowed to about half it's speed and stripped of percussion. Flocka's verse's are joined instead by a feather-light, unhurried Nintendo arpeggio. It's fucking magic. When the drums do come, they're followed by machine guns and a wholeheartedly joyful church organ. Enjoy below—and for added effect, watch the official music video on mute underneath the player.

8. Lyon & Lowe - "One Million Chances"
Lyon & Lowe are unnaturally gifted composers. Their songs are always sure to include one or two twists that fit into a fabric you hadn't seen until that piano line or shaker gets added. "One Million Chances" is a smooth, slow burn, and the duo's signature ambling vocals are barely there in just the right way.
We got to know a little more about the band when we premiered this song earlier in the week: "Our main roles are Lowe as singer and me as producer," said Lyon, "but we both bring lots of ideas to the table and play multiple instruments."
The two are part of the DIY movement. Lowe hopes the industry's future is, "when Top 40 is...people in their bedrooms." "For lots of people," Lyon adds, "making music at studios is unpleasant and not a natural way to make something." If they continue to make music like this without the studios, I see no reason to try and fix what ain't broke.
10. REO - "Mike Tyson"
REO dropped the colossal "Mike Tyson" with an equally vicious video. Big drums, mean samples, cliff drops—it hits in a way that would make Mike proud.
12. Chance The Rapper & The Social Experiment - "Lady Friend"
From the jump, it was clear that Chance The Rapper was more than his name implies. He does more than rap, and he's always had an ear that stretches far beyond the musicality of your typical bar-spitting rapper. His latest, "Lady Friend," proves it.
For this one, he gets some help from Peter Cottontale, Nate Fox, Donnie Trumpet, Kiara Lanier, Kehlani, Spencer Nezey, and The Social Experiment.
14. Brodinski - "François-Xavier (Feat. Young Scooter)"
You might be hearing a lot more from Brodinski in the coming weeks. His debut BRAVA album just dropped, a seething tidal wave of cold, haunting beats and a long list of guests. Young Scooter is one of them, preaching the gospel of not giving a fuck.

16. Crustation/J Dilla - "Purple (Zikomo Remix)"
February 7 is the birthday of late producer J Dilla and this passed February 10 marked the 9th anniversary of his untimely death. Every year during those days, many fans and artists usually pay tribute to Dilla in their own way. Long Beach-based producer Zikomo remixed Dilla's edit of Crustation's song "Purple" in honor of the legendary producer.
18. Two-9 - "Money Counter"
This week the Atlanta collective Two-9 finally released their fist official project via Ear Drummer Records. Their mixtape B4FRVR was executive produced by Mike Will Made It so every track sounds as hard-hitting as you would expect. "Money Counter" is an immediate stand out which features member Jace on the lead vocals.
Download the entire B4FRVR mixtape here.
20. Mister Lies - "Wait?"
Ryan Hemsworth's Secret Song series has become a fixture on this list. The man has taste, and he's been finding some gems that, in some cases, wouldn't have seen the light of day. Mister Lies' "Wait?" is one of those rescued beauties, plucked from the ether after being left off 2014's Shadow album. All of Hemsworth's Secret Songs come with a note from the band, and a note from Ryan. Read their stories below, then sink into the pillowy, blissful waves of "Wait?"
Mister Lies:
"this song was initially intended for my LP for orchid tapes, “shadow”, but it almost felt too sanguine compared to the other material i had written for it. while that album is about living in a state of flux, this track is about the quest to get out of it and (in the process) discovering a rare escape in the form of another person. thanks to the boy ryan for this opportunity – so happy this song finally has a home!"
Ryan Hemsworth:
"there's so many places music can take you, in the world and in time, and i try to keep myself open to visit anywhere. but i think where songs like 'Wait?' take me is the best. in this instance it's that developmental shitty period of high school, where we're surrounded by sparks and magic, and uncertainty and endless worrying. it's scary and defining; the perfect time for a soundtrack. i probably would've had a lot of Mister Lies on my burnt CDs if i could've back then."
23. Cadenza x Fem Fel - "Electric Blocks"
25. Preston Harris - "Hummingbird"
Preston Harris is the newest talent from Hit-Boy's HS87 imprint. The R&B crooner's debut EP Love Crazy features production mostly done by Hit-Boy himself. One of the stand out tracks besides the title track is "Hummingbird," which really takes off around the 1:30 mark. The track, as well as the entire free EP, includes a combination of sweet lovable lyrics and smooth production with plenty of switch-ups to hold your attention.
27. Key! - "Work Ya Risk"
29. Bones & Dylan Ross - "TheIvy"
"TheIvy" creeps up on you, starting slow with some ominous, crawling synths and growing into a booming, ethereal beat—one of Bones' best to date. Rapper Dylan Ross helps extend the slow burn by making his verse an instrument of its own: he starts in a cooing falsetto and ends with rapid fire raps.
"TheIvy" is off the SongsThatRemindYouOfHome album released just this week. The songs are brooding and heavy—the lyrics, dark and often hopeless ("how do I dance with two feet in the grave?"), are paired with smooth melodies bursting with energy, and the resulting sulk funk is very easy on the ears.
31. Metro Thuggin - "Free Gucci"
It was Gucci Mane's birthday this week. He spent it in prison, but Young Thug and Metro Boomin' gifted Guwop a birthday tribute track. And it's not half bad. HBD Gucci.
