Zak Abel, the UK’s latest soulful export, just dropped “Alchemy,” the first track off his debut EP. At only 19 (!), Abel has a polished depth that belies his youth (he was selected as one of BBC Radio 1Xtra’s “Hot For 2015” artists), and the strong production to match. He’s already worked with notable UK producers Gorgon City and Wookie and for this EP, he’s partnered with Joker. If “Alchemy” is any indication, the pair are going to be pretty dangerous together—Joker’s garage beat is infectious, while still leaving plenty of space for Abel’s raw yet catchy vocals.
