An upsetting update in the story of B.B. King‘s death on May 14: two of his daughters, Karen Williams and Patty King, allege that the late blues legend was poisoned, and kept from his family during his last days, by his manager LaVerne Toney and personal assistant Myron Johnson.

His daughters had previously raised concerns about possible elder abuse while their father was in hospice care. Mow, in affidavits provided to the Associated Press, both say that “[they] believe [their] father was poisoned and that he was administered foreign substances,” and that they “believe [their] father was murdered.”

Las Vegas police homicide detectives are currently investigating, though the full results of the autopsy could take up to eight weeks to obtain.
