Sky Ferreira and boyfriend DIIV frontman Zachary Cole Smith were arrested late Friday night in Saugerties, New York on a handful of misdemeanor charges. According to the Daily Freeman, the couple was pulled over after Smith, who was driving, made several traffic infractions. Police then checked the vehicle’s registration which showed that the plates on the truck were stolen and Smith was wanted on an outstanding traffic warrant.
Ferreira “was found in possession of ecstasy and resisted arrest,” while Smith had in his possession a “plastic bag containing 42 decks of heroin,” or as Stereogum points out, about $420 worth. Smith was also charged with “one count of possession of stolen property and one count of aggravated unlicensed driving,” as well as “the violations of unregistered motor vehicle, driving without insurance, unlicensed driver, and having an inadequate exhaust system,” the report states.
Both were taken to Ulster County jail but later released on bail.
