Iron & Wine To Release New Album, Share New Track "Lovers' Revolution"

Another day, another new album announcement. This time it comes from indie-folk pioneer Iron & Wine (aka Sam Beam), who will release their follow-up to 2011’s Kiss Each Other this spring. Ghost On Ghost is due out April 16 and will be produced by longtime collaborator Brian Deck. The record will include 12 tracks and will be a shift from the past two LPs, which Beam stated contained an “anxious tension.” And with one listen of the album’s first offering, “Lover’s Revolution” it’s clear this shift will be a noticeable one. The track is much jazzier and funkier than anything we’ve heard from Iron & Wine previously, with the emphasis instead on horns and boisterous keys.
