The Avalanches’ forthcoming album Wildflower will arrive in just over two weeks, an album fans have been patiently waiting for for over 15 years. We’ve already heard three exciting new songs from the elusive collective’s forthcoming album: “Frankie Sinatra,” which features MF DOOM, and the Jonathan Donahue (of Mercury Rev) assisted “Colours.” Today, The Avalanches reveal one more from Wildflower in anticipation of its release.

“Subways,” which they teased back in May, sees The Avalanches sampling Chandra’s “Subways” and Graham Bonnet’s version of The Bee Gees’ “Warm Ride,” backed by an infectious, funky baseline and shimmering textures. The song is accompanied by visuals from Emi Ueoka, which are definitely less harrowing than the ones featured in “Frankie Sinatra.”

Earlier this year, The Avalanches’ collaboration with Toro y Moi surfaced online, but quickly disappeared. Wildflower also promises appearances from the likes of Father John Misty, Biz Markie, and many others.

Listen to “Subways” below. Wildflower will be released on July 8 via Modular/Astralwerks/XL/EMI.
