Watch a New Mini-Doc on the Evolution of the Postal Service

The Postal Service was born out of long-distance file sharing between Ben Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello and Jenny Lewis. They released Give Up in 2003, toured for a few months afterwards and then went on with their other projects. The album, however, began to get snatched up like a sleeve of red Icee-Pops in South Carolina and the three soon found themselves staring down the other end of a platinum album.

With Give Up’s 10th anniversary reissue, The Postal Service cracked the million mark and decided it wouldn’t be too crazy to go back on tour — to see if these supposed “fans” really existed. The Creators Project signed on to make a little documentary chronicling their journey, past and present. The final product, directed by Justin Mitchell, is in that video-box thing above this text. Give it a twirl.
