It’s been a little while since we’ve heard from Oliver Tank, but the Aussie beatmaker has just landed himself alongside the likes of Ta-Ku and Chet Faker as one of the many producers making waves from down under. It has a lot to do with “Different Speed,” a pillowy trip through the clouds featuring production from Ta-Ku.
Tank’s voice makes it sound like he’s never drooled in his life, weaving between clipped guitars and cavernous echoes with effortless agility. Taku’s been popping up a lot recently on remixes and features, and if this is the kind of effect he’s going to have on his peers, I’d like to nominate a new President of Electronic Melancholy.
