Listen to Paul McCartney's First Single "New" Which Was Produced by Mark Ronson

None

There’s a new Paul McCartney album and it’s conveniently titled New. He’s shared the title track from the project on his Soundcloud and it is available for streaming here. The track was produced by Grammy-winning producer and musician Mark Ronson who is best known for his work with Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga and Lily Allen. The album will reportedly feature plenty of other collaborators on its 12 tracks, including four producers.

“The record is very varied,” McCartney told BBC 6. “I worked with four producers and each of them brought something different.”

Other producers include Paul Epworth, Ethan Johns and Giles Martin.

The former Beatle  spoke highly of Ronson, noting that he was impressed by the producer’s work with Amy Winehouse. “Mark’s work with Amy [Winehouse] was sensational,” McCartney said. “So I knew he’d be good. He knows his music, he knows what he likes and the two of us together took the song and tried to put the maximum vibe into it.”

McCartney also spoke about “New” saying: “It’s catchy, it’s summery, it’s a love song. I think people will recognize it as definitely me.  It’s a love song but it’s saying don’t look at me I haven’t got any answers. It says I don’t know what’s happening, I don’t know how it’s all happening, but it’s good and I love you.”

New marks McCartney’s first release in six years, his last solo album was 2007’s Memory Almost Full. It will be out on October 14 in the U.K and October 15 in the U.S. and has a total of 12 tracks that What do you think of the new track? Does it hold up to the rest of the ex-Beatles’ extensive back catalogue?
